It was a good friend and DJ, who told him he should “do something with music”, because he really had “good taste of music, better than most of his colleagues”. This was a personal turning point. Steven already had a popular house radio show and decided it was time to get out of his studio and into the clubs.
When Privilege asked him to stay the summer in Ibiza to play deep 3 times a week, Steven didn’t really realise how big this opportunity was. He was used to play for friends in Belgium, sometimes in big events, sometimes in small ones, but always for friends. Same story at Privilege: he was just playing for a friend (who happened to run the biggest club in the world).
After that summer, things really took off, with three residencies: WADklub at Queen in Paris, the most famous club of France; Red & Blue in Antwerp and über-gay-club La Démence.
By now, Steven has made a name for himself worldwide ripping up dancefloors at prime events such as the Hawaii Paradise Festival, the Puerto Rico Inferno Festival and Mardi Gras in Sydney, next to doing guestspots at Supertmartxé parties in Amsterdam and Paris, headlining in Toronto, San Francisco, Rio De Janeiro, London & Madrid to name but very few.
But weekdays are working days too. As soon as his busy schedule permits Steven dives into the studio to churn out new music. And with result: 2 remixes in the USA Billboard Dance chart for a total of over 20 weeks, appearance on over 20 compilations including several tracks on every Circuit Compilation, Europe’s most important gay compilation.
His ever-growing fanbase for his podcast has hit 60.000 followers recently, and still keeps growing.
But if there’s a little time left and the Mediterranean weak-ass waves allow it, surf’s up! His favourite pass time.
